Active Minds is the leading national organization empowering students to speak openly about mental health in order to educate others and encourage help seeking. The organization is changing the culture on campuses and in the community by providing information, leadership opportunities and advocacy training to the next generation.
The Carter Center Mental Health Program, under the leadership of former First Lady Rosalynn Carter, the nation’s foremost champion for the rights of people with mental illnesses, the Carter Center’s Mental Health Program works to promote awareness about mental health issues, inform public policy, achieve equity for mental health care comparable to other health care,and reduce stigma and discrimination against those with mental illnesses. The program uses the Center’s convening power to bring together health leaders and national organizations to discuss important issues facing the mental health care system at the annual Rosalynn Carter Symposium on Mental Health Policy, while the Rosalynn Carter Georgia Mental Health Forum targets issues at the state level. All program activities are guided by the Center’s Mental Health Task Force, formed to identify major issues in the field.

NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. NAMI advocates for access to services, treatment, supports and research and is steadfast in its commitment to raising awareness and building a community of hope for all of those in need.
